R Class Safety

I can only speak for the US market vehicle. While I haven't seen any actual comparative test results, I would be stunned if this wasn't one of the safer vehicles out there, if not in the top 10 percentile. It has front and rear side airbags plus side curtain bags front, middle, and rear. In addition to the ABS and skid control that many vehicles have, it also has brake assist where it applies additional brake pressure if it detects an emergency situation where the driver hasn't applied sufficient pressure. It also has seat belt tensioners that tighten down the belts in an accident situation to reduce the travel of your body. The vehicle body is extremely rigid with high strength steel in numerous areas. It has a much lower center of gravity than many other vehicles of its size that should reduce rollover potential.

I'm sure I've even missed some of its features, but insummary, this is a safe vehicle!
