| Sorry for the sarcasm, but why get worked up about it? This is sort of like asking how come you can't lower the 4matic or why did they put bigger wheels on the sport edition...it's a difference that is irrelevant in your circumstance. You have the 4matic, you have to get the brake pads specified for it. Done deal, plain and simple. There are a couple of MB techs on the site, check the general forum as they post in there some, and PM them, but I doubt they could give you a specific reason either.
