I agree and I gather it is for the outside noise reduction that this kit is meant for.
That price does seem a lot I seem to remember reading in another thread, that in Europe it was much much cheaper,and that members were using alternative non M/B sound proofing materials.
Can't see it helping with the rust problems I reckon it might make it worse as it would either, trap the water, become soggy , or stop the water from drying out.
Many years ago I used carpet underlay on a Mini's bonnet, it quietened it down ok but it got some petrol on and started smouldering ( It looked like I " lit my tyres up" and was "burning rubber" ) |
