I get 20 mpg in the city and 27-28 on the highway. I suppose it's nice to have a good mechanic but these cars are best owned by DIYer. It is incredibly easy to read the fault codes yourself. It's also easy to work on the car yourself, especially if you have the MB service CD. The idea is to have a good mechanic and then never take the car to him.
