I was in getting gas a few weeks ago (happened to be driving my 944 turbo at the time, which IS a fast ride - over 325 RWHP and <3,100#). Some sideways-hat jackhole kid with a riced-out Honda or Acura or some such thing (couldn't tell, didn't really care) starts in about "what kind of car is that? Is it fast? Want to see who's faster 0-60?" I put the pump nozzle back and looked at him and just said, "0-60 races are for chumps, if you want, I'll be happy to meet your at Buttonwillow some afternoon and race you 0-160 though". Vacant stare. Didn't compute. I just got in the car and drove off, leaving him standing there.

Unless your car has monster meaty slicks in the back, bicycle tires in the front and burns alcohol, I fail to see why 0-60 matters. Handling, balance and overall completeness is far more important.

My neighbor has a highly-modded 1970 El Camino. Beautiful car and fast as holy hell in a straight line, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it on a curvy road. It's all about what's important to you. If 0-60 matters to you, go to the ricer forums. You can participate in their lap-pinky measuring contests over there.

Slack...I've been meaning to talk to you about your repression of your feelings. You really should learn to let them out and not bottle them up..you know, tell us how you really feel.

I'm just teasing friend...but seriously, relax, different strokes for different folks. We're all friends here.....

PS, I'd love a chance to drive your 944 through the twisties...bet it's a blast!!
