| M103 3.2 The 3.2 engine looks like any other M103 - no fancy badges back then. IIRC there used to be 2 stickers on the valve cover, one identifying the engine as a 3.2, the other listing recommended spark plugs, unfortunately they are gone now (previous owner probably blasted them off with a pressure washer). The exhaust manifolds on the AMG 103s were painted bright silver, but that never lasted more than a couple of years.
The only cars back then that got AMG VIN plates were the W124 V8 'Hammers' - the modifications were so extensive that AMG was listed as the manufacturer.
BTW, the 3.2 isn't all that quick off the line, especially in a 4MATIC - but around 3,000 RPM it really begins to pull, thats when I can tell the difference between the AMG and my stock 91.
