| This is more or less correct. If you do it just right, you can get the new spring in without compressing it. After you loosen the shock, loosen the bolt in the picture below, but do not take the nut off. Beat on this piece until it drops to the nut...probably gonna have to beat the $%@# out of it. This gives you another half an inch or so of clearance. It will take an impact wrench to loosen it and re-tighten it. The suspension will lower and almost catch by the brake line. Make sure your brake line doesn't get too much tension on it. After all this, when you compress the spring (u can use one of the ones at autozone, it's $50 deposit, but you get it all back. aka free) you'll pull it right out with the spring bad. The new spring pad and spring should fit in without being compressed. Makes life a little easier. I have more pics if you or anyone else is interested. Planning on posting a DIY one day. |
