But before I start prying around back there and mark up the panel...anyone know how to quickly remove that panel? Where is the best place to pry? Two sides? Corners?

Any advice appreciated.

As a side note...this really is Bull***t that one cant buy a shop manual direct from Mercedes. Who the hell brings in a 10 year old car to service for something like this? I've had shop manuals over the years for all my cars and bikes and they have proven worth their weight in gold. Anyway...just wanted to rant a bit.

The Merc circle logo is simply levered off gently from the outside - it has 3 pins into 3 nylon sockets - be gentle, a round tipped dinner knife is ideal.

the vito logo is easily removed by gently warming it - a hairdryer on full in a garage works, a craft hot air gun is probably the best (used by card makers)
a paint stripping hot air gun will work but you have to be very careful not to blister the paint - take your time.
then prise off gently with the type of knife mentioned above - no sharp edges.
clean off glue residue with alcohol (isopropanol) or mercle glue remover.
