| I just dealt with this issue on my 2006 SL600. I did not like the stock wheels and bought a set of 2003 AMG wheels off of Ebay. The AMGs did not have tire pressure senders and the dash light came on. After studying the manual, I found that there was no good way to turn off the tire pressure system. The brain box and fuse box for it are buried in the back of the car. I removed the instrument panel and took it apart and carefully painted out the tire warning LED with flat black paint. I couldn't use black tape because of lack of clearance with the speedo needle.
The dealer offered to try to turn off the system with the Star tool, but I would have had to leave the car with them and wait. I hate going to the dealer... |
