1995 E300D Throttle Linkage Sticking

Ever since cold weather set in this season my throttle linkage has been sticking. From start up, I will accelerate slightly and when I let off of the pedal it doesn't return to idle. This will occur at higher accelerations as well, however, I can usually tap briskly on the pedal and get it to return to idle. Yesyerday is was extremely cold and tapping the accelerator had no effect and because of the torque my ABS took over and I was unable to stop the car correctly.

Has anyone experienced this scenario? I am convinced it is the linkage and have sprayed PB Blaster on all swivel points in an attempt to alleviate the condition....to no avail.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
