| 1. the small cracks in you brakes are normal, i see these on every slr that i have seen.
2. the squeek will not stop at 1000 miles, there is a client with 6000 on his and we just installed the new pads due to ongoing squeek problems
3. i do not know if it really solves the problem since the updated pads just came out, but its worth a try
4. the performance may actually be better because the new single pad design has more contact area than the old 2 pad design
5. dont know the dtb # off the top of my head, i would have to look it up.
by the way, mercedes did not design this car with a concern for brake squeek, the pure purpose of these brakes is to provide the best possible braking performance regardless of noise. do not be surprised if the aggressive pad material makes noise for as long as you own it. |
