| Sounds like it could be a fuel distributor issue that is surfacing. M103 engine is generally ultra reliable. Could be something on the electronic side of the fuel delivery system (CIS distibutor)
Save yourself the hassles and guesswork. Have the engine plugged into a STAR computer for proper diagnosis. There are a few mercedes independents which have the diagnostic tools but you might just have to take it to a genuine MBZ workshop. I am a do it yourselfer but when it comes to fuel delivery issues there are many sensors involved and scanning the engine will quickly pinpoint the offending sensor or component. good luck and let us know what it was.
