Exclamation 1992 300E starts, but then stalls when I try to go

I have a problem with my 1992 300E (automatic tans.) I have driven it for 30,000 miles with no engine running problems. This problem all started when I was driving home down the interstate and pulled off for snacks. When I got back into the car the first try it wouldn't start. Waited a couple of minutes and it started right up. When I went to pull out of the parking lot, the car stalled. When I tried to start it up again it started right up, but when I put it in gear and gave it gas it would stall again.
Had the car towed into a local mechanic and they told me that the car was fine and needed a tune-up. Replaced Dist. Cap, plugs, wires, battery, and fuel system cleaning (which I am sure meant adding something in the gas tank). Got the car back and it ran fine for a day. Then I drove it 2 hours to visit family, drove around town once there and no problems. Drove back 2 hours and as soon as I pulled off the ramp at the interstate it stalled on me. Started right back up, and I found that if I took my foot off the brake and let the car start moving, I could then give it gas and get going. If I went straight from brake to gas it would stall. Also I found that if I was moving and went from gas to break and then back to gas it would stall again. I am looking at replacing the fuel filter, but in reading see that the OVP might be a problem (but I have no ABS light on) any other suggestions? Fuel pump maybe? Any other electrical I should check?
