In the front it doesn't matter how far since there isn't anything in there. The parking brake mechanism is inside the rear hub and not too far in at that.
Make sure you spin the rear tires by hand after the new rims are on there to verify that you're not hitting anything. If you're hitting the brakes and back out of the driveway, you'll trash the parking brakes (empirically derived data, don't ya know).
