How do you know when the gearbox decided to shift when it changes in 'S' mode? Chances are the same delays apply. I find 'S' mode better for making the fastest progress, but manual mode can be more involving. So they complement each other. 'C' mode changes up much earlier and is less frantic. It's a great gearbox IMO because it offers the three alternatives.

I definately think 'S' mode is faster. Let me clarify. Although 'M' probably changes gears as fast as 'S' mode, the .5 sec delay between driver input and gearbox change is the problem. Therefore, I still believe 'S' mode is faster although a bit less involving.
Oh, I wish there was a way to use 'M' mode but start off in 2nd gear. I find 1st gear too short unless you're racing.
