Once it begins to fail, it causes the ABS light to illuminate even when the voltage has not dropped. This is because any drop in voltage disconnects the ABS system. The problem is that once this part begins to cause problems, it adversley affects many of the engine management systems, causing flooding, stalling, cutting-out etc.
