<center><img src="http://216.122.199.143/gallery/goto.asp?id=336"></center><p>If you mean that you have a hole between the gear shift and ash tray, it is possibly for the electrical heated seats (stuck in on the outer sides of the panel).<p>However...1,5" square sounds larger so it may be possible that the hole has something to do with the "standheizung", an additional heater system...<p>Are the edges in the hole dark and painted or light and unpainted.
