| A possible answer to your shifting problem would be that you have increased vacuum with the valve job and new gasket and are kicking more to the system. Adjust the modulator on the transmission to change the shifting. I am guessing the first shift is kicking harder and they get progressively smoother. If that is the case, do not adjust to where the first shift is smooth or the top shifts will be sliding which is not a good thing. There is a happy medium. (I think she works the boardwalk at Atlantic City).
