We dont know for sure how much. We are still finding more and more oil everyday. It is estimated that canada has more oil than the middle east, it is also said we have more oil in the gulf of mexico than the whole middle east. But the thing is getting to the oil but technology is improving so we can reach oil deeper and cheaper than we ever have.
As I said before we dont need more oil we need to invest in better technology so we can be like Brazil and grow our own fuel. E86 is the future of energy most cars can be outfitted to run on it in fact I think most new chevys can run on it.
What the US needs
Invest in E86 and make all cars run on it within the next 10-15 years.
More nuclear power plants to replace the coal/oil plants.
If we do the above our environment will become better but it wont happen since neither the Republicans or Democrats can turn away oil money.
