The real solution was the one we debated on MB shop two years ago - a tax on gas guzzlers. The real problem is SUVs. We are faced with a situation where demand from China and India against the same supply of crude is going to cause prices to rise unless we can cut consumption in America to the point things begin to equalize again. We need nuclear power, a moon-shot style program to develop solar, and we need to just quit burning so damn much gas.
