Bad assumption. 2 liters (2.1 qts) per the manual.
And if you didn't let it sit a long time, don't believe what you see on the dipstick. Mine was down 75% after sitting 20 minutes, 50% after sitting overnight.
And don't assume that 50% = 1.05 qts. On mine, 50% meant I had to add 0.75 qts to fill it.
Finally, in my case, the indicator came on when I took a steep driveway apron at an angle at a high enough speed to experience some meaningful inertia. I didn't see it again in the week that passed before I topped it off. My guess is that I never would have seen the indicator at all had it not been for taking that apron a little fast.
