To answer your question..........as long as a good synthetic is used, 10,000 miles is a reasonable interval.

Personally, I recommend the Mobil One 0W40 and if the dealer does it for free, go for it. If they charge a fee, I would recommend you do it yourself using a vacuum pump. Extremely easy and gives you a chance to check other fluids, etc.

Plenty of info on this site and others regarding DIY. Good luck...I'm getting ready to do my 230,000 mile oil change this weekend. Now your biggest challenge is finding a good deal on the 0W40 !!

Oh, and it goes without saying....filter needs changing too, preferably with one of the new fleece types.You can find them online in the $10.00 range.
