| A Comment from a Mechanic on the "500,000 mark"
I spoke with a mechanic today as I went in to pick up some new tires. He used to be a chief mechanic at a Benz/Import dealer in New Jersey, and apparently has reasonable experience with the company. He commented on my mileage (257,860) and spoke highly of the diesel engines (a common occurence). BUT, what absolutely threw me back in my seat was that when you own a Mercedes that reaches 500,000 miles, and you can prove it (he wasn't specific on that part), Mercedes gives you a brand new car. Has anyone heard this? If not, its an excellent advertising ploy and I intend to contact a Mercedes rep. immediately...Even though I've got at least 20 years to hit 500,000. Why do I even care? |
