The fuel distributor is the metal spider looking thing under the air filter housing. It would be to the left of the throttle body I guess if you were facing the front your vehicle looking at the engine. The air flow sensor is the thing in between. It would be just to the right of the fuel distributor.

Also you mentioned that you had a muffler recently installed... You may want to check that it has not developed any cracks or that any seals have broken. More than once have I had a new OEM muffler crack under the pressure right after being installed. If there are leaks in the exhaust system and there is too little back pressure, the car will run very rough and sluggish.
