I had the same problem happen when I needed a flat repaired and the local tire shop had trouble getting the tire mounted back on. They sent it to their wheel polishing place and it came back even worse.

The manager looked like a sad little puppy when he handed me the new AMG wheel and suggested I take it to the dealer because he didn't want to ruin another wheel. I would have felt bad for him had it not been for the run around I got trying to get the issue resolved.
