RE: Replacing the blower motor, how?

First you'll have to remove the mesh cover at the bottom of the windshield. After that is removed go through and loosen up the bolts connecting the wiper motor (3 or 4 I believe) *note you are not disconnecting the motor from the linkage you are disconnecting the motor from the where it bolts to the chassis* and disconnect the plug for the motor if you can get your hands on it, if you can't its alright since there will be enough slack when you pull the entire assembly out.

Then disconnect the wiper assembly from the firewall (1 bolt or nut, I can't remember), and disconnect any nuts or bolts attaching the wiper assembly to anything (if I remember there might be 3 or 4 nuts above the blower motor box). And then disconnect the firewall section directly in front of the wiper assembly (it will be held in by plastic plug style fasteners). You can now remove the wiper arm cover from the wiper assembly by flipping up the piece at the base of the arm to reveal a hex bolt.

*Note* the area in which you circled is part of the wiper assembly, the area which will flip up is on the arm, not the assembly.

After you take off the arm, you should have enough remove to now move the entire wiper arm assembly (including motor around). Be careful and go slow at this, it will come out if you move it down and towards the passenger side.

The blower motor box has 6 or 8 brass colored straps holding it together, disconnect the straps and the box will open. Disconnect the strap holding the motor in place and unplug the motor. Take careful note of which way the motor is facing as well as which which way the cages are oriented (if you just bought the motor and not the entire unit). Put everything back together making sure the spacing on the cages is correct and not rubbing into the box.

Close the box up, and put everything back together.

Off the top of my head this is all I could remember from doing this on my 190E last year before I traded it in.
