My car had a much milder case of your car's ailment this past week. While driving on the highway the dashboard display flashed warnings for the ESP system and the BAS system. The malfunction warnings flashed alternately until I shut the car off. Upon restarting the engine the warning messages were reset. The car drove normally and did not go into the "limp home mode" you described - that's what Saab called it when my old 9-5's engine management computer went crazy and I had to drive home (50 miles) at 20 MPH. I dropped my car off at the MB dealer this morning and I'll post any information I get from them when I pick it up. Maybe it will help....... |
