Been there! Checked that! New thermostat in. Fan comes on. Just runs v warm. In 26C ambient with a full load (two adults, two very large teenage boys, 11 year old daughter and two small dogs) and the 'van on the hook I took my brave pills and hit the M'way.
When I was younger I used to talk about 110/115 and mean MPH, now it's degrees C! Temp went up there, but didn't go any higher. Even came down on the downhill stretches.
I guess like the man at Merc GB said, it's supposed to do that. Still terrifies me if I think to much about it.
Stark contrast to my old Range Rover which just sneered at a load and changes of ambient temperature. Mind you, the bits continued to fall off it in a way none of my Mercs have ever threatened despite their antiquity. |
