If the car is a '95 or older, running diagnostics will quickly identify which switch is not signaling the controller that the top is locked in place. If you do a search on my username, I think you will find where I wrote-up the procedure. You'll need a paper clip or wire. Very easy. On a '96 or newer model you will have to use a basic meter and check the input signals to the controller.
