A 190D can be a good car if it's been well cared for. Unfortunately, the chances of finding such a car are slim. Old M-B diesels are notoriously finicky. Repairs are rather expensive unless you're a do-it-yourselfer with alot of extra time to chase down parts sources.<br>

You might get better opinions on the MercedesShop forums. They seem to be more knowledgable about older MBs.
